Tilicho peak is a smidgen hard to mount than the other mountains having the elevation of around 7000m. The Tilicho Peak lies on the bank of the aqua-blue Tilicho Lake.

Tilicho Peak is technically amusing as the standard trail through the northwest shoulder has the fuse of rock and ice ruling up to hilly snowflakes.

The peak was detected in 1950 by the crew guided by Maurice Herzog who was making effort to find Annapurna I. The first climb was made in 1979 by the French climber Emanuel Schmutz adopting the northwest shoulder.

This expedition has two paths up to its camp. One trail goes through Marsyangdi valley track and another trail goes through Kaligandaki valley track.

The summit vision is heart-stopping: Annapurna sierra, Tibetan plain, Dhaulagiri and below, the deepest basin in the world the Kali Gandaki canyon and Tilicho Lake.

Best time for Tilicho peak

Basically, two seasons are highly recommended for Tilicho peak Expedition is Spring from March to May and Autumn from September to November.

Generally, spring is hazy, cloud cover mountains but if you love flowers then rhododendrons are in full flourish on your way! It might be snow on the trail during early spring.

Autumn is the outstanding season for trekking Tilicho peak. The massive number of trekkers visit there in this season. October is the most perfect season for Tilicho peak Expedition.

This trek can be done throughout the year so that choose the time which could please you more and excite depend upon your personal interest and need. If cold pleased you and want to play snow then early of spring or late of Autumn will be perfect.

How difficult is it?

The trek is moderate grade trek which requires advanced physical fitness levels. It is relatively hard trekking even if you trek the mountain of height 7000m.

The trekking can be performed by all kinds of trekkers those are physically fit to walk 6- 7 hours a day. The visitor having prior trekking experience with a fit body can trek it in within the short period of time.

Trekking Permits  for Tilicho peak

To trek to Annapurna Base Camp, you need two visas.

  • Firstly, the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) card.
  • Secondly, the Trekkers’ Information Management System (TIMS) card.
