One of the most inaccessible and formidable treks in the Himalayas in far-east Nepal, along with the border of Sikkim and Tibet, Mt. Kanchenjunga. The meaning of Kanchenjunga is “five treasures of the great snow,” which refers to the five summits that make up Kanchenjunga.

Kanchenjunga Base Camp Trek takes you to the northeast side of Nepal traveling through the trails of remote villages and cultures of the eastern part of Nepal. When to go?

Trekking is possible throughout the year, but Spring and Autumn season and months from March till Mid May and October till the end of November provide the finest weather. Although, people hike during June and Early September and till December which is monsoon and winter season.

During the Spring, there is some extra color and the rhododendrons are flowering, and in the Autumn season, the skies are mainly cloudless. During the winter some of the native village folks from the upper part they move down to the lower valley for the warm place. In that case, some tea houses and campsites may without people and layer.

Trekking Permit

You need to have a valid passport having the minimum of 6 months of validity from the return date. You can get a Nepalese visa from the Nepalese consulate in your country or arrival in Kathmandu airport. One will also require two passport size photographs to get Nepal permit. Indian nationalities don’t require any types of visa.

Visa Charges:

Permitted only 150 days to stop in Nepal in a schedule of events on a tourist visa.

Health and Fitness
