Overview
The Annapurna Base Camp trek with Ghorepani Poon Hill starts in Kathmandu, the bustling City of Temples. You will travel to Pokhara from here, which is the gateway to the Annapurna region.
A short two-hour drive from Pokhara will bring you to the starting point of the Annapurna Base Camp trek with Ghorepani Poon Hill, which is Nayapul.
On the first day of the trek, you will hike to Ulleri via Tikhedhunga, a lovely mountain village. From Tikhedhunga, you will climb around 3,200 stone staircases to Ulleri and continue to the famous Ghorepani village.
The village welcomes you with stunning mountain vistas. The next day, you will ascend to Poon Hill viewpoint. From here, you will see an outstanding sunrise and 20+ Himalayan mountains.
Then the trail descends to Tadapani, and you will join the Annapurna Base Camp route the following day. From Tadapani, we hike to Chhomrong village through terraced fields and dense forests of oak and rhododendrons.
Descend from Chhomrong and cross a suspension bridge. The trail ascends to Upper Sinuwa and goes through Modhi Khol Valley on the way to Dovan. Then, spend a night in Dovan and Deurali before hiking to the Annapurna Base Camp the next day.
You will pass by the Himalaya Hotel and Hinku Cave. Enter the Annapurna Sanctuary and pass by Machhapuchhare Base Camp. From here, a steep, narrow trail will lead you to the base of the 10th-tallest mountain in the world, Mt. Annapurna.
Unlike the Everest Base Camp trek, you spend a night at Annapurna Base Camp. The next morning, wake up enjoying a breathtaking sunrise and mountain view. Then retrace the trail back to Bamboo.
You will then hike down to Jhinu Danda. Here, you can enjoy natural hot springs and finally descend to Nayapul to end the trek. Following the same way, drive back to Pokhara. Enjoy a lovely evening at Phewa Lake and return to Kathmandu the next day.
