What it is like trekking to Everest Base Camp - distance, duration, terrain, elevation
During the Everest Base Camp luxury trek, you will walk approximately 130 km (both ways). Each day, you will trek 9 to 11 km on average. The longest day will be the Lobuche to EBC hike via Gorak Shep.
Daily walking duration will be 5 to 6 hours. Your pace determines how long you walk each day overall. The terrain from Lukla to Everest Base Camp is rugged and steep.
You will trek through lush hills and valleys, crossing numerous suspension bridges in the first few days. The trail then travels across alpine terraces and crosses glacier moraines and rocky tracks once you go above treeline.
